LONDON-Orange SA has chosen Solomon Trujillo to lead the company as chief executive officer, replacing Jean Francois Pontal who resigned in December.
Trujillo, who has been a member of the board at Orange since 2001, served as president and CEO of U S West for five years, retiring in June 2000 when the company merged with Qwest Communications. Trujillo is also a member Alcatel SA’s chairman’s council and serves on the board of directors at Pepsi Co., Target Stores and Gannet. He will be based in London and Paris.
