SAN MATEO, Calif.-Beatnik Inc., which provides structured audio software solutions for mobile devices, said Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications L.P. is using its Beatnik Audio Engine in its new Symbian OS P800 mobile phone and plans to use it in other future products.
The BAE allows P800 users to download high-fidelity musical ring tones, play games with realistic sound effects, send audio-enhanced multimedia messages and assign custom sounds to common phone tasks, said Beatnik.
Beatnik will be demonstrating the audio capabilities of the P800 at its booth on the Texas Instruments stand, E19 in Hall 2, at the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, France.
