TOKYO-NTT Comware, an NTT Group company, and a local museum in Hyogo Prefecture, Western Japan, will launch a field test for an “indoor navigation system” on 28 January, the organizations jointly announced.
According to the groups, the indoor navigation system consists of a location server, an information distribution server and access points. Holders of a mobile gear equipped with Bluetooth cards can identify their own locations by communicating with 44 antennas built at the museum. When users enter a particular room, they will get information about the displays via motion pictures, text and audio, they said.
