BEDMINSTER, N.J.-Verizon Wireless Inc. said it intends to offer Research In Motion Ltd.’s voice-enabled BlackBerry 6750 handheld device on its cdma2000 1x-based Express Network during the first quarter of next year. The launch will be the first BlackBerry device offered on a 1x network in the United States.

The RIM BlackBerry voice-enabled device is currently available from GSM/GPRS operators AT&T Wireless Services Inc. and T-Mobile USA Inc. and was launched earlier this week on Nextel Communications Inc.’s iDEN-based-network.
