ARMONK, N.Y.-IBM Corp. and Sharp Corp. said they will work together to build a new embedded Linux handheld solution to enable businesses extend enterprise applications to their mobile workers.
Sharp will use IBM’s software for its Linux-based personal digital assistants.
“IBM and Sharp are working to leverage the flexibility of Linux and Java, trying together device technologies and solutions to help enterprises extend their infrastructure to make access simpler and interaction easier,” said Rodney Adkins, general manager, IBM pervasive computing division.
