Motorola, Alcatel to expand network in Qatar

DOHA, Qatar-Motorola and Alcatel said they have signed a US$60 million contract to supply infrastructure equipment for Qatar’s state-owned carrier Qatar Telecom.

The network will increase its capacity to 400,000 from its current 214, 000 when completed. Qatar Telecom operates a GSM network.
