CHICAGO-Struggling telecom gear maker Lucent Technologies Inc. said the company’s performance for the quarter will fall below market projections and will compel it to cut more staff and costs.
Lucent, which has slashed more than half of its employees since 1999, said it would post a 45-cent loss, more than three times the market expectation.
