International consulting part of the Group’s growth strategy: Francis Deprez appointed new CEO of Detecon

Francis Deprez (46) is to take over as Chief Executive Officer of the international consulting company Detecon effective September 1, 2011. To date, he has been Head of Group Strategy at Deutsche Telekom. As a former partner at McKinsey, he brings consulting expertise to his new role and will expand the company’s consulting business further, helping to drive ahead the Group’s growth strategy.

Alongside dynamic services such as pay-per-use bandwidth, computing and storage capacities or entire applications from the cloud (cloud computing), strategic consulting is a key element of future growth in business with corporate customers in particular. Above all, this includes international consulting for companies in almost all sectors on issues of strategy and organization, as well as on the deployment of modern information and communication technology (ICT).

Detecon is a subsidiary of T-Systems and, with projects in over 160 countries, is one of the leading consulting companies worldwide. The focus of its work is on ICT consulting in the fields of telecommunications, banking and insurance, automotive, manufacturing and energy.

Deprez has many years of experience as a business consultant. Before joining Deutsche Telekom in 2006 he spent 15 years working for McKinsey, eight of them as partner. He also has in-depth knowledge of the Group and has been responsible for various strategic projects. As Head of Group Strategy, he played an important role in establishing Deutsche Telekom as a provider of connected life and work.
