SAN DIEGO-Qualcomm Inc. and Lucent Technologies Inc. said they have completed a series of UMTS packet data calls, describing it as the “first such demonstration … with commercial 3G infrastructure and chipsets for mobile devices.”
The companies said they demonstrated high-speed streaming video, Web browsing and access to a corporate network via an Internet Protocol virtual private network.
