China Telecom, Samsung Kick Off W899 Promotion

On December 5, 2010, China Telecom and Samsung jointly launched W899, which is available for both GSM and CDMA technologies. Besides, the handset adopts Android 2.2 operating system and is compatible with 3G services provided by China Telecom.
The retail price of bare W899 reaches CNY 8,000. Shortly, China Telecom will offer subsidies for the terminal in the forms of mobile phone presentation and call tolls. eSurfing Telecom Terminal will be responsible for the distribution of W899.
In the past two years, China Telecom launched W699 and W799 together with Samsung. The leading Chinese telecommunications carrier will continue customizing flagship terminals from its South Korean partner and plans to launch one model per year.
