FAIRFAX, Va.—IBM Corp. entered an alliance with Trust Digital LLC. to provide secure data on mobile devices.
Using password protection, data encryption and a variety of administration control measures, Trust Digital’s encryption software, PDASecure, will safeguard mobile information stored on IBM’s expansion memory card, Microdrive, from internal and external fraud, theft, sabotage and hacking, according to a statement.
“PDASecure works by allowing users to encrypt data on memory cards, either in full or only securing to specific files, by converting data into ‘ciphertext,’ the unreadable content that is viewed on the device’s screen before it is unlocked by an authorized user,” said IBM in a statement.
