BANGALORE -(Dow Jones)- Microsoft Corp. (MSFT: 25.41, -0.21, -0.82%) Monday said it named the ex-chief of Oracle India, Bhaskar Pramanik, as new chairman of the U.S. software giant’s India unit.
Pramanik, previously managing director of Oracle Corp.’s (ORCL: 32.56, -0.08, -0.26%) India arm, replaces Ravi Venkatesan, who stepped down in February after a seven-year stint at the U.S. company.
As chairman, Pramanik will oversee Microsoft’s sales, marketing and services unit and head Microsoft’s assets in India, the U.S. company said in a statement.
