The Indian government will announce a new telecommunications policy by October, Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal said. India’s telecom regulator had recently submitted its recommendations on the policy, and the minister said the Telecom Commission will consider the suggestions at its meeting and then forward them to the cabinet.
