CANNES, France—Logica set a Guinness World Record by successfully delivering the fastest text message around the globe in 197.53 seconds.
Logica Mobile Networks Chief Executive Officer Gerry McKenna sent the message “Be Global” to Johannesburg from the company’s booth at the 3GSM World Congress. The message then went to Sao Paolo, Brazil, San Francisco, Calif., Sydney, Australia, Hong Kong and back to Cannes.
The attempt illustrated the capabilities of Logica’s Global Interconnect Network, which allows for the delivery of messages over multiple technologies.
