Microsoft creates MPAC

REDMOND, Wash.-Microsoft Corp. said it created a wireless group within its Mobile Solutions Partner Program to ensure that other companies’ products and services work smoothly with Microsoft’s wireless systems.

Microsoft’s Mobility Partner Advisory Council will serve as a feedback mechanism for Microsoft mobility platform development and will also provide technical, marketing and business development support, the company said.

The MPAC, part of the company’s MSPP, is an offshoot of Microsoft’s broader Certified Partner Program. The groups are designed to drive demand for Microsoft’s wireless products and services, which include Microsoft mobile devices, Pocket PC platforms and Smartphone software, as well as the Mobile Information Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, the BackOffice family, Microsoft Windows Media Technologies and MSN Mobile Service.
