Ericsson has secured a contract to provide managed services for field maintenance to Telefónica Brazil in São Paulo. The range of field services include operations, supervising and maintaining Telefónica’s fixed network within the following areas in São Paulo city: Campo Limpo, Campo Belo, Jabaquara, Consolação and Ipiranga. The managed services will be provided in a multi-vendor environment.
This new contract is an expansion of Ericsson’s existing managed services with Telefonica Brazil. RCR Wireless Americas asked the financial terms of this contract, but Ericsson said that company doesn’t disclose values. In 2008, Ericsson and Telefónica Brazil entered into an agreement for field maintenance of the operator’s fiber network in São Paulo state.
In Ericsson’s press release, Sergio Quiroga, head of Ericsson in Latin America, said that “broadening Ericsson managed services partnership further with Telefónica is an important step.”
