Honeywall, XM Satellite Radio use Certicom security technology

HAYWARD, Calif.—Certicom announced its Digital Rights Management and content protection security technology and services are being used to provide secure data transmissions in new wireless applications from Honeywell and XM Satellite Radio.

Certicom’s technology will be used by Honeywell to deliver its Flight Information Systems Broadcast Program and by XM Satellite Radio to deliver its U.S. digital radio service.

“Certicom’s leading security solutions are specifically tailored to the constraints of the wireless environment,” explained Simon Blake-Wilson, Certicom’s director of business development and cryptographer. “The solutions developed with Honeywell and XM Satellite Radio illustrate the broad potential of wireless applications beyond wireless phones and computer devices.”
