BRISTOL, U.K.—Wireless Systems International Ltd. announced it created a high specification radio-frequency application specific integrated circuit controller, which operates in PCS frequency bands, that it plans to integrate into its wireless power amplifier products.
“The objective with the new ASIC design is to combine significant reductions in cost and size, with improvements in system performance—aiming to simplify the hardware aspects of 3G infrastructure, as well as reducing costs and expanding potential software/services provision,” explained Peter Kenington, WSI’s chief technology officer.
