Microsoft gets Bluetooth certification

REDMOND, Wash.-Microsoft Corp. reported the Bluetooth Special Interest Group qualified the Bluetooth implementation in Windows CE .NET, the software giant’s next version of its Windows CE operating system, as compliant with the Bluetooth specification.

Microsoft is working with a number of companies to provide additional Bluetooth functionality to the operating system, including dial-up networking for connection with a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone, enabling devices to get LAN access to any existing network with a Bluetooth access point and support of serial port profile for cable replacement while connecting to a printer or scanner.
