ALAMEDA, California, United States—UTStarcom announced that its PAS contract bookings and subscriber base numbers have achieved near-record increases during the third quarter.
The company has received more than US$170 million in new and expansion PAS contracts within mainland China since the beginning of the third quarter. In addition, UTStarcom’s subscriber base has grown by 180 percent since the year-ago quarter, to more than 2 million. “As PAS deployments continue to gain momentum, the result for UTStarcom is increased confidence and visibility on our financial results going forward,” explained Mike Sophie, chief financial officer for UTStarcom.
The company also announced it will begin deploying its PAS data and value-added service, known as C-Mode, in the fourth quarter.
