BUCHAREST, Romania—According to the Greek newspaper Naftemporiki, OTE Telecom is in discussions with the government of Macedonia regarding the country’s second GSM license.
The Macedonian Press Agency said last week that there is no obstacle to OTE obtaining the second mobile-phone license from the Macedonian government, as the government rejected another bid because it lacked the necessary guarantees. The country’s Ministry of Transportation and Communications rejected the offer by the Macedonian company Link Telecom because it did not present proof that it can provide the guarantees necessary to make the investment.
