PARIS—Alcatel says it has won a contract to build mobile networks for Philippines operator Digitel to support 500,000 subscribers who will be able to surf the Internet and carry out other wireless data transactions at 115 kpbs.
“Under the terms of this contract, Alcatel will supply its Evolium solution comprising a radio access network (base stations and base station controllers), mobile switching centers, home location registers, an intelligent network platform for value-added services as well as PPRS core network infrastructure,” said Alcatel in a statement.
