TAIPEI, Taiwan-Nortel Networks said it has signed an agreement to expand Chunghwa Telecom’s GSM networks for about $250 million.
“These expansions are expected to increase Chunghwa Telecom’s network capacity to 6.5 million subscribers, and will enable Taiwan’s leading telecommunications provider to offer high-performance wireless Internet services across the country,” said Nortel in a statement on the contract, which includes a GSM Gateway Mobile Switching Center.
