Norwegian Birdstep gets two EasyConnect orders

3 January 2011 – Norwegian software company Birdstep Technology ASA (OSL: BIRD) said today it has struck a deal to supply its EasyConnect solution to an unnamed mobile operator in Latin America while getting an expansion order for the product in Europe.

Birdstep will provide the EasyConnect solution for the Latin American company’ s mobile broadband product through an exclusive agreement with Ericsson Telecom SA de CV, part of Swedish telecoms equipment major Ericsson AB (STO: ERIC B). It projects to book revenue of up to NOK7m over 24 months. The software will be pre-installed on USB mobile broadband devices for pre-paid and post-paid solutions to be sold through both direct and indirect sales channels. EasyConnect enables improved mobile broadband service.

The Norwegian company has also won an expansion order, worth NOK1.9m over six months, from an undisclosed European mobile operator.
