HELSINKI, Finland-Nokia Networks announced it has signed a $100 million contract to expand Beijing Mobile Communications Co.’s GSM 900 and 1800 network.
Nokia will supply a range of network infrastructure products, including mobile switching equipment, base stations and base station controllers. Beijing MCC has an option for Nokia’s UltraSite base station solution, which supports GSM High Speed Data, GPRS, EDGE and WCDMA for third-generation technologies. Professional services including telecom implementation, project management, radio network planning and radio network optimization, training and selected care services will also be provided by Nokia.
