LONDON-Vodafone Group plc confirmed the content and technology partners chosen for its Global Platform and Internet Services Group. The partnerships will add design, custom content, advanced search technology, content integration and location-based services to the Vodafone Global Platform, which designs, builds and maintains Vodafone’s global portal outside Europe.
The companies chosen include New York Times Digital, MedicinePlanet Inc., ScreamingMedia Inc., Cambridge Technology Partners, AirFlash Inc., MapInfo Corp. and Google Inc.
MapInfo’s location-based software is being used to develop a new service for Vizzavi, Vodafone’s consumer portal.
The service, Vizzavi Find & Seek, enables WAP customers in England, Scotland and Wales to locate and identify information about restaurants, shops, banks and other retail services. Vodafone offers the Vizzavi mobile portal in conjunction with Vivendi.
