SCARBOROUGH, Ontario- Telus Mobility, the national wireless telecommunications business unit of Telus Corp., announced what it said are record first quarter wireless subscriber results.
The “results represent an all-time record first-quarter for Telus Mobility, and in fact are the highest number of first-quarter net additions reported to date by any Canadian wireless operator,” said George Cope, president and chief executive officer of Telus Mobility. He added, “With these strong results, we are well on our way to meeting our subscriber-growth objective of approximately 500,000 net subscriber additions in 2001.”
Telus added 100,8000 subscribers in the first quarter, a 19-percent increase from last year’s first quarter results. Telus now boasts a total client base of 2,256,900, a 27-percent increase from this time last year.
