SEATTLE-Amazon.com is launching a wireless phone store on its Web site, providing background information, pricing and shopping comparison services for online shoppers of wireless devices.
Customers will be able to choose a device and sign up for various service plans from national providers like AT&T Wireless Services Inc., Sprint PCS and VoiceStream Wireless Corp., the company said. Amazon also will make device and service suggestions based on customers’ answers to specific questions, provide coverage maps and personalize results based on localized availability, as well as customer reviews, expert recommendations and accessories.
