SANTA CLARA, Calif.-3Com Corp. released two new carrier-class solutions for delivering virtual private network services.
The solutions, from the company’s Carrier Networks Business, are media independent and can be delivered through cable, digital subscriber line or CDMA wireless networks, the company said.
The solutions allow service providers to offer customers secure, encrypted Internet connectivity for intranet, extranet and remote access. This will allow mobile workers to access the same Internet protocol-based applications as the corporate local area networks.
The company said its VPN solutions incorporate multiple Total Control 1000 platforms, configured with a combination of high-performance Total Control 1000 access router card sets and Total Control 1000 digital signaling processor multispan card sets.
The platform can function as a VPN gateway, concentrator, terminator or tunnel switch, the company said.
