SAN DIEGO-Qualcomm Inc. entered a subscriber unit research and development agreement with Chungwha Telecom Labs, the technology development group of the state-owned telecommunications operator in Taiwan.
The agreement calls for Chungwha to develop and evaluate prototype subscriber units based on Qualcomm’s third-generation cdma2000 1x technology.
The agreement also calls for Qualcomm to provide Chungwha with CDMA chipsets and system software, relevant documentation and technical support required for its cdma2000 1x research and development projects.
Financial terms of the agreement were not released.
