CHICAGO-Almost half of wireless data users feel data services are “very” to “extremely important” when selecting their wireless service provider, according to results from Telephia Inc.’s wireless data and Internet survey.
The survey also showed that more than half of wireless data users questioned are interested in location-based services for their mobile devices. The most useful types of service cited were directions/mapping, followed by addresses/yellow pages and ATM locations.
Almost one-fifth of wireless data users said they would be willing to accept advertising on their mobile devices without receiving any form of compensation in exchange.
In addition, the survey showed that the most frequently cited reasons for purchasing mobile devices include brand name and reputation, followed by service plan price.
