Tianjin gov. approves investment

BEIJING-The Tianjin, China, municipal government announced approval of Motorola Inc.’s planned $1.9 billion investment for semiconductor manufacturing and telecommunications facilities in China.

Motorola said the investment will be focused on two sites-the Motorola Tianjin Integrated Semiconductor Manufacturing Complex and the Motorola Asia Telecommunication Product Manufacturing Site.

Initial product deliveries from the manufacturing complex are scheduled to supply Motorola’s customers in China and the broader Asia-Pacific market.
