CHICAGO-United Airlines introduced enhancements to United Update, a suite of applications designed to inform travelers with WAP-enabled wireless devices of flight and travel information via United’s wireless Web sites.
The enhancements allow travelers to check the status of a United flight and gate information by entering a flight number and airport information. Customers can also check flight availability by entering the origin and destination airports desired. Members of United’s Mileage Plus program can also access their account information through the service.
In addition, travelers who register for United’s Proactive Paging Services can have their flight status sent directly to their phones, including flight departure times and gate information.
United said more than 90,000 people have been paged by the service since it introduced the Proactive Paging System.
