HAUPPAUGE, N.Y.-Microwave Power Devices Inc., a supplier of highly linear power amplifiers, reported disappointing financial results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30.
Revenues were down compared with second-quarter 1999-from $19.1 million to $14.5 million. MPD also reported a net loss of $700,000, or 6 cents per share, for the quarter, compared with net income of $1.3 million, or 12 cents per share, last year.
For the six months, MPD reported revenues of $27 million, compared with revenues of $36.4 million for the same period last year. The company also reported net loss for the first six months of $1.7 million, or 16 cents per share, compared with net income of $2.1 million, or 20 cents per share, for the first six months of 1999.
MPD attributed some of the revenue decline to the close of a wireless program in the first half of 1999 that was not replaced this year.
