NEW YORK-Internet retailer barnesandnoble.com launched a wireless e-commerce initiative called bn.com On the Go, which is designed to allow customers to search for and buy its products from wireless devices.
The service will allow users to find Barnes & Noble store locations, search for and buy books and music, read reviews, send eCards, and check order status from wireless devices, the company said.
The first salvo in this effort is a partnership with Palm Computing Inc., including barnesandnoble.com services on the Palm VII device and Palm.net Web clipping service.
In addition, the company said it joined the Wireless Application Protocol and the Phone.com Inc. Alliance program.
