Omnipoint revenue improves from 2Q

BETHESDA, Md.-Omnipoint Corp. said it added 104,000 subscribers in the third quarter, ending the three-month period with 698,000 subscribers.

The carrier said revenues hit $110 million for the quarter, exceeding second-quarter revenues by about $20 million.

Net loss was $134.2 million for the quarter, or $2.50 per share, compared with a $178.8 million net loss, or $3.36 per share, in the second quarter. Average revenue per user was more than $50, said the company. Churn averaged in the mid 3-percent range.
