REDWOOD CITY, Calif.-AirFlash.com Inc. said Finnish carrier Sonera Inc. has implemented its mobile location-based Internet services as part of the carrier’s recently announced mobile portal initiative.
The initial service will include AirFlash.com’s Mobile Yellow Pages service that uses the company’s search technology to locate users and provide them with information most relevant to their areas. It is expected to become commercially available in Great Britain by 2000.
In related news, infoUSA.com and AirFlash.com entered into a multiyear agreement, in which Silicon Valley, Calif.-based infoUSA.com will provide its proprietary business and consumer databases and Internet white and yellow page directory services to AirFlash.com’s mobile portal.
The deal will allow users to access infoUSA.com’s database for location-specific information services.
