PARSIPPANY, N.J.-Phillips Group-InfoTech projects the U.S. in-building wireless voice market will grow at an average annual growth rate of 34 percent to reach $815 million in revenue by 2003, up from $191 million in 1998, the firm said.
Two new developments are driving this forecasted increase-the rapid growth of wireless service subscribers has stimulated the need for mobility products that can be used both in and out of the office, and wireless voice products will be able to piggyback on the growing number of wireless local area network products to deliver voice services along with data traffic.
Phillips Group-InfoTech also projects handset shipments will grow from 169,300 in 1998 to 1.2 million in 2003.
