BELLEVUE, Wash.-@mobile Corp. announced the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded the company a patent for key aspects of its wireless instant messaging technology, called IMessenger.
IMessenger enables Internet-based instant messaging applications to send and receive messages from digital wireless phones. It integrates with instant messaging clients in such a way that a person wishing to send an instant message can tell if the person they are calling is on their phone, personal computer or both, said @mobile.
The person sending the message then sends their message to the Internet device of their choice, the company said.
