The following list includes venture capital and other investments into wireless companies announced during the past week. The value of the investment is included when available.
–E-Band: Reliance Technology Ventures Ltd. led a $10 million Series B funding round into E-Band Communications Corp. Also participating were ADC Telecommunications, Express Ventures, Hercules Technology Growth Capital Inc., Investec and an unnamed wireless carrier. E-band develops multigigabit capacity wireless technology.
–INSIDE Contactless: Nokia Growth Partners led a $38 million Series C investment round into INSIDE Contactless, which provides contactless payment chips and Near Field Communications technologies for mobile devices. Existing investors Sofinnova Partners, Vertex Management, Vertex Ventures, Siparex, GIMV, EuroUS Venture, Granite Global Ventures and Visa Ventures also participated.
–Liberty Towers: Housatonic Partners invested $20 million into Liberty Towers, according to DH Capital, which advised the company on the deal. Liberty Towers said it will use the funding to continue development of towers in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern United States.
–Music Intelligence: Angel investors invested $7 million into Music Intelligence Solutions Inc. The company said it plans to use the funds to roll out its mobile music discovery solution and launch its Web 2.0 personalization and community networking capabilities.
–MyStrands: BBVA led a $24 million Series B2 round of funding into MyStrands, which offers a Personalized Discovery Platform and a Social Recommender Engine. Existing investor Debaeque also participated.
–REVShare: The Carlyle Group and H.I.G. Ventures co-led a $20 million investment into REVShare, an exchange that allows advertisers to bid for television time on a Cost-per-Action basis. RBC Daniels advised REVShare on the transaction.
