BOSTON-American Tower Corp. reported revenues for the second quarter ended June 30 of $167 million, a significant increase from the $50.2 million reported for second-quarter 1999.
The company recorded a net loss of $58.6 million, or 36 cents per share, compared with a net loss of $9.9 million, or 6 cents per share, reported for the same time the previous year.
“We are on track to build approximately 1,500 towers this year. As we continue to increase our inventory of young, high-growth towers, our strong lease-up activity should persist. In addition, our services group is poised to benefit from our in-house capacity to roll out wireless networks,” said Steve Dodge, American Tower’s chairman and chief executive officer.
