BETHESDA, Md.-Omnipoint Corp. reported revenues of $89.7 million for the quarter ended June 30, more than double revenues of $42.2 million the company reported for the same period last year.
Net loss for the quarter totaled $178.8 million, or $3.36 per share, compared with a net loss of $180.4 million, or $3.43 per share, for the same quarter a year ago.
The company said it added 116,000 net subscribers during the quarter, about 3,000 of which were proportionate subscribers from Omnipoint’s operating arrangement with PCS One in central Pennsylvania. Omnipoint’s subscriber base totaled 594,000 at the end of the quarter.
Omnipoint last month announced plans to merge with VoiceStream Wireless Corp.
