SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.-Ground Control, provider of DIRECWAY two-way mobile and fixed satellite systems, has released its IG-VoIP solution to allow DIRECWAY satellite subscribers to make voice calls to anywhere and from anywhere in the world via DIRECWAY Satellite Internet service at rates starting at about 8 cents per minute.
IG-VoIP phones are used in conjunction with the vehicle-mounted Mobile DIRECWAY DataStorm satellite dish to provide users with a satellite phone and a broadband Internet connection anywhere they drive.
“No longer are business or recreational travelers bound to cellular phone towers or wires,” said Tony Coles, president and chief executive officer of Ground Control. “With our stationary or mobile satellite systems, they can place a telephone call anywhere at a fraction of the cost of traditional satellite telephones.”
