FRAMINGHAM, Mass.-Ericsson Inc. selected Natural MicroSystems’ products and services for the first integrated wireless network that enables carriers to combine dispatch and group communications within their standard Global System for Mobile communications infrastructure, said Natural MicroSystems.
Ericsson said it selected the open telecommunications approach to build the platform for its GSM Pro network because of its time-to-market advantages and Natural MicroSystems’ knowledge in CompactPCI and DSP and SS7 hardware and software.
Natural MicroSystems said South Africa will be the first country to implement Ericsson’s GSM Pro wireless network, which will enable carriers to offer services such as broadcast calls, group and conference calls, call dispatch and alert/alarm calling.
