Scandinavian Softline to license WAP
HELSINKI, Finland-Scandinavian Softline Technology has agreed to license Nokia Corp.’s Wireless Application Protocol technology to deliver value-added data solutions for wireless carriers.
SST has developed several products for the short messaging service and smart messaging markets, and said it intends to develop others for WAP service. Its flagship product, SST MobileNet, uses SMS to send content from Internet and intranet-based sources to Global System for Mobile communications handsets.
Price exchanges debt notes
NEW YORK-Price Communications Corp. said $212.2 million aggregate principal amount of senior exchangeable payable-in-kind notes due 2008 issued by its wholly owned subsidiary, Price Communications Cellular Holding Inc., will be exchanged June 24 for about 16.6 million shares of Price Communications Corp. common stock.
The exchange will occur automatically according to terms of the notes, according to Price.
LHS to service Saudi Globalstar
ATLANTA-LHS Group Inc. and its global Partner Logica plan to provide a customer-care and billing system to Saudi Globalstar Operations Co. Ltd., which is licensed to provide mobile communications services using the Globalstar sate llite network in the region.
