MILAN-Omnitel launched its new Web portal-Omnitel 2000-last week in Milan.
The portal provides access to more than 150 different services and the Internet from any type of telephone connection using a combination of voice recognition and hypertext technologies, said the company.
The service is planned to start at the end of June followed by two months of fine-tuning. The commercial launch is expected at the beginning of September.
Omnitel said the service is available to its own customers as well as to customers of other fixed and mobile operators.
The company said it expects the portal to be accessed as many as 60 million times by the end of the year.
