SEATTLE-Internet retailer Wireless Dimension changed its name and Web site address to Point.com in an effort to communicate the company’s goal of helping customers “get to the point” of smart wireless phone purchases, the company announced.
Point.com also announced it has entered a joint e-commerce venture with Staples Inc., which calls for Point.com to manage a co-branded wireless telecommunications store within the Staples Web site. Point.com also announced Staples made a $3.5 million equity investment in the company, which raised a total of $14 million in third-round financing.
In addition, Point.com announced it received an Inc./Cisco Growing with Technology runner-up award in the Internet/Virtual companies category.
