AIRCELL GAINS FUNDING

LOUISVILLE, Colo.-AirCell Inc., which has developed an air-to-ground communications system that makes use of cellular frequencies, said private equity investors led by Blumenstein/Thorne Information Partners have purchased more than $12 million of new equity in the privately held company.

The funding was provided primarily by Goldman Sachs Capital Investment Fund, said AirCell.

The investment primarily will be used to fund the nationwide installation of AirCell’s network, which is targeted for general aviation aircraft and regional airlines.
