LITTLE ROCK, Ark.-Alltel Corp. said it has assumed operations of Durango Cellular Telephone Co. in Durango, Colo., following its acquisition of the company on March 31, and is introducing an expanded calling area in northern New Mexico as well as enhanced rate plans and customer service.
The new operations, previously marketed as “Cellular One of Southwest Colorado,” now will be marketed under the Alltel name and will include 50,000 additional square miles of local wireless calling area in northern and central New Mexico, said Alltel.
The company also is offering rate plans that offer double the number of package minutes offered in most wireless plans, and triple on others.
