SAN FRANCISCO-Vodafone Group plc and AirTouch Communications Inc. said they received a private letter ruling from the Internal Revenue Service concerning their proposed merger.
The ruling says the transaction will satisfy a key requirement for a tax-free merger between a foreign and U.S. company, and the merger consideration will no longer be subject to adjustment.
